About Susan Hippe
Born in South Africa, Susan has lived in Denmark, America, Germany and France, and is now based in London. After her career in ballet was cut short by a knee injury, Susan decided to follow a childhood ambition and become an Artist. She was a Fine Art student in France and London, and achieved a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from Roehampton Institute, University of Surrey. She specialises in Mixed Media and drawing, covering fine art, art for the community, applied art and graphic design. Susan has completed one public, and several private commission works in National and International collections (prints of these works are available).

Artist's Statement
"In general I like to work on a wide range of themes with stylistic versatility and the expression of great vitality. My aim is to create strong, colourful works that reflect the vibrancy and diversity of the world, but also my own energy. Drawing often combined with mixed media/collage, on a very large or small scale, is an essential means of expression. Original themes and ideas are preferred, but also the use of more unusual material - either as support or collage material - like cosmetic pads, coffee filters, pencil sharpener residue, plastic, quilt, textile, aluminium foil, balloons, etc, exploring the possibilities of the apparently banal objects of the consumer's world"
